VIDEO: One of the coolest aspects of training Pekiti-Tirsia Kali (even during solo training) is the visualization factor it can offer. This is an important component to learning and understanding the combat flow of weaponry.
VIDEO: Can you identify threat indicators? Can you identify the initiation? Can you identify the flow of weaponry? Can you bridge the gap and strike without a mutual destruction? Do you have evasive footwork maneuvering? Can you adapt? How much power can you generate? Can you validate your skill?
VIDEO: What else does PTK-SMF empty-hands entail? How much in-close fighting exists? Well, Pekiti-Tirsia essentially means “close-quarters”. Thus, there’s an effective range of applications for extreme close-quarter engagements.

Forward or reverse grip, thrusting or slashing on the high-line or low-line, grab-and-stab, a blitz or full on knife vs knife combat. Free up mental space and train for it all with one core combat system: PTK-SMF.
VIDEO: Edged weapons are serious business, so it’s critical to train realistically. Here are a examples of live-blade manipulations and dynamic attacks with a short/combat knife as well as a machete/long blade.
VIDEO: Whether protecting yourself and your family in the home or other environments, dynamic personal protection is the central theme of this course — employing an integrated system of movement, tactics, and equalizers.
On Sept. 19th-20th, Radius hosted an advanced two-day course with Tim Waid (PTK-SMF president, former U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Platoon Sgt.) and SFC Shawn Menard (combat veteran, instructor with U.S. Army).
